What a year!

I have been thoroughly impressed with the theatre students at Centennial High School. Looking back on 2007-2008 school year thus far, we have managed to perform two incredibly successful shows. We have tackled Shakespeare and brought the holiday spirit out in all of our patrons. I am so proud of all of the students involved in both productions. Kudos!

We will be having auditions for Fat Nite Follies, our ice cream-filled variety show, on December 18-19 in school. All theatre students are required to audition.

Something new for next year, the theatre program will be having auditions for Advanced Theatre III/IV and for Musical Theatre. This is in response to a growing, thriving program. I will post the dates for the auditions shortly.

I am so excited about our next main stage show, West Side Story. For more information on West Side, visit the following website: http://www.westsidestory.com/. I will have a West Side Story blog up shortly. Thanks for your support!

The Nutcracker is coming just in time for the holiday season!

The Fine Arts Department proudly presents The Nutcracker December 6 and 7 at 7pm for only $10. The students have been working very hard to get this great heart-warming production ready for you. I have been so proud of our students during this rehearsal process. I challenged my mentor students, Lindsey and Tim with directing the theatrical portion of this production. They have been doing a great job! I have also been very impressed with Ryan, Sammi, Rachel and Alex with their work on the musical theatre portion of the show. This is truly a student-driven production. My Advanced Theatre III/IV class re-wrote the text of the show in class. The revamped text is wonderful. I can't wait to see all of the pieces come together and I hope that you come out and join us!
